Robot Access Control (RAC)
RAC is a tool that enables secure UNIX administration. It restricts distribution of root account passwords while granting legitimate users access to the specific subset of "root" privileges they need. Tasks or applications requiring privileged command usage will be executed and logged under individual user IDs, establishing accountability. Delegating responsibilities allows the System Administrator time for priority projects. Role-based security policies control which users have which privileges on which servers at what times. RAC provides an effective audit trail with intelligent filters and automated report generation/distribution capabilities. Applications protected with MD5 checksum verification.
